Our boys basketball setting up to score at their senior night game.

Our boy’s basketball team has had a great season.  Royal won back-to-back against Santa Barbara High School and Pacifica High School of Oxnard.  As well as a win against Moorpark High School. Head coach Tyler Meek said, “Resiliency that’s what we’ve preached all along.”

Senior and leader Drew Romano said, “We’re changing everything around here. We’re looking forward to this program’s future.” Preston Lowry and Drew Romano had been voted captains of the team. Lowry said, “It’s a great redemption year and a chance for redemption for Coach Meek.

The team ended the first quarter with a 4.0 GPA.  This shows the team’s hard work on the court and in the classroom. January 31 was senior night and a rivalry game against Simi Valley High School.  The Highlanders took on teamwork and persistence during the game and gave it their all.  Even though we didn’t win, it was an excellent night for seniors Drew Romano, Preston Lowry, Trevor Watkins, Maddox Montolfo, Jack Hurwitz, and Nicholas Chimarusti.
