Varsity baseball had their last game on May 3 against Maranatha High School, unfortunately losing in the first round of the CIF playoffs. The team went 16-13 overall and 4-8 in league, being ranked number four in the Coastal Canyon League, and in the state they are ranked 228th. Junior Zachary Nagy had the highest average at 373. He also led the team in on base percentage at 527, most stolen bases at 10, most runs with 23, most hits at 31, and the highest slugging percentage at 602.
Junior Caden Sramek had the most home runs with two and an earned run average at 2.01. Sophomore Isaiah Tillman had the lowest earned run average at a 1.33 and most runs batted in with 16. Junior Cooper Orme had the highest fielding percentage with a perfect 1.000% Junior Dylan Jones had a amazing season with a 518 slugging percentage and a 370 batting average. Jones said, “I had a ton of fun and can’t wait for my senior year.” Sophomore Dean Barkman had a amazing season with a 1.88 earned run average. Senior Landon Parada had 15 runs scored with a .983 fielding percentage and 9 stolen bases.
This was an incredible year with a ton of amazing players. Sophomore Lucas Markland said, “I enjoyed going out there and trying my hardest and I will continue to do the same every year.”
