On December 4, from 6-7 p.m., Evening of Excellence (EoE) took place on campus. The night started off with families entering the M.P.R. for an opening presentation before the glamourous night commenced. Soon, families with their students were able to explore the school, as various clubs presented their initiative in the ASB quad, and the sports all set up in the gym. The cafe was open as well to serve drinks and snacks, only showing off what amazing things the Highlanders do here.
As Link Leaders were stationed all around the Kingdom to help families and aid in running this night smoothly, their leadership shined extra bright. Assistant Principal of Activities and Athletics, Ms. Patricia Myskowski, coordinated majority of the event and was a large role in allowing all the new incoming student’s and their families to have the best possible experience. Myskowski shared, “Evening of Excellence is special in that it shows the many ways that Royal really is excellent. Especially in those areas that might not be as visible from the outside.” This just shows how critical this event is for incoming families, and how it is absolutely fundamental to attend EoE for a well rounded picture of what we have to offer.
The Highlanders who volunteered for this event truly marked the amount of talent that is present at this school. With each and every program the Kingdom has to offer, it encompassed how this school creates student leaders and preparation for a new amazing generation of students year-by-year. Our Academics consistently improve annually, and is not commonly talked about on social media. Our CTE programs are unlike the other high-schools of Simi Valley, as well as our nationally awarded JROTC program. Myskowski stated her excitement for the future endeavors, and said, “We were excited to have a great turnout, and can’t wait to welcome the Class Of 2029 to Royal.” Go Highlanders!
