Summer activities

Overlooking Simi Valley from the Hummingbird Trail. This is a 3.8 mile loop trail, and is considered a challenging route.

Simi Valley is a great place to have fun in the summer! There are lots of activities for kids and families. Here are some cool things you can do:

Visit Parks

Simi Valley has many beautiful parks where you can play and relax. Rancho Tapo Community Park, also known as Lemon Park, has a splash pad to cool off in the hot weather. You can also play sports, have a picnic, or just enjoy the fresh air.

Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum is an exciting place to learn about history. You can see Air Force One, the airplane used by President Reagan, and explore interesting exhibits about his life and presidency. It’s both fun and educational!

Movie Theaters

If you love watching movies, Simi Valley has two great theaters. The Regal Simi Valley Civic Center Stadium 16 offers the latest blockbuster movies with comfy seats. The Studio Movie Grill is another cool place where you can watch movies while enjoying a meal served right to your seat.

Paint Pottery

Get creative at Color Me Mine, a pottery painting studio. You can paint your own pottery pieces and make unique gifts or keepsakes. It’s a great way to spend a relaxing afternoon and take home something special.

Bike Ride Along the Wash

For those who love biking, the Arroyo Simi Bike Path is perfect. It runs along the wash and offers a safe, scenic route for riding your bike. It’s a fun way to stay active and enjoy the outdoors.


Simi Valley has fantastic hiking trails with beautiful views. The Rocky Peak Park offers challenging trails with rewarding sights at the top. There are also easier trails like the ones at Corriganville Park, which are great for families.

Ice Skating at Iceoplex

Even in the summer, you can go ice skating at the Iceoplex. It is a fun way to stay cool and practice your skating skills. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, Iceoplex is a great place to enjoy some time on the ice.

In N Out Fast Food

Many people would argue that this is one of the best fast food restaurants in town. It is a good place to stop by this summer to grab a bite to eat. They have delicious burgers and nice cold shakes for a hot day.

Rancho Simi

Rancho Simi Offers four fun activities. A public pool for you, friends and family. Behind there is a big pond that allows duck feeding and fishing but keeps swimming in the pool. Rancho has an amazing park for anyone to play on.

Harley’s Bowling Alley 

Harley’s bowling alleys offers bowling all day and has an amazing arcade to play and get food after words. It is a great place to got with a large group of friends or even family. 

Beryl Wood Skate Park

Pick up a new hobby skating open to the public for free. Next to the skating area there is also a volleyball court that is free for anyone to use. 

Golf Course

You can play golf for $17 a person, must reserve tee times seven days in advance and the average course time is over four hours to complete. But if you do not feel like doing that you can use their shooting range

Free Workouts for Teens at Planet Fitness

Teens aged 14-19 can work out for free this summer at Planet Fitness. This gym offers a special summer membership just for teens. You can use all the gym equipment and join fitness classes without paying a dime. It’s a great way to stay active, meet new friends, and have fun.

Discover Art at Louis Gallery

If you love art, you should visit Louis Gallery. This gallery has many different artworks that you can look at and even buy. You will find paintings, sculptures, and other unique pieces created by artists from around the world. It’s a cool place to see beautiful art and maybe even take some home.

Hit Some Balls at the Batting Cages

For those who enjoy baseball or softball, the batting cages in Simi Valley are a perfect spot. You can practice your swing and have a great time with friends or family. Whether you’re a pro or just starting, the batting cages are fun for everyone.

Play Laser Tag

If you’re looking for some action, try playing laser tag. The laser tag arena is like a big maze where you and your friends can compete to tag each other with laser beams. It’s an exciting game that’s perfect for birthdays, parties, or just a fun day out.

Another fantastic place for art lovers is the Curatorial Art Center. This center has amazing art exhibits and also offers workshops where you can learn more about art. They have many events and programs that help people appreciate and enjoy art. It’s a wonderful place to explore if you’re curious about the art world.

Simi Valley has something for everyone this summer. Whether you like outdoor adventures, creative activities, or learning new things, you’ll find plenty to do. Junior Jonatan Evans said, “I’m spending most of my summer camping with my family.” Junior Evan Rillera said, “My goal is to hike every trail in Simi Valley.” Get out there and have some fun!
