Miss Vic with Mothers Against Destructive Decision Making spoke to students on Thursday, March 14, during lunch in the CSI room. Drunk driving convictions can include steep fines and jail time. A drunk driving conviction can affect the way people think of you and ability to get a job. The speakers talked about how they have dealt with it and ways you can prevent it.
Miss Vic said, “The reason this organization started was because a mom lost her daughter due to a drunk driver, and the mom has done everything she can to stop that from happening to other people.” They also showed stories of other kids and how certain decisions saved them. For example, a kid named Ethan lost his life due to his friend driving drunk. The friend did not die but Ethan did at a very young age of 17. Junior Matthew Blough said, “It was very sad to see that they were almost my age and died because of a stupid decision.” In total it is amazing to see what they are doing to try and prevent bad decisions from killing people and making sure people learn sooner than later.
