For high school students, the student section is a very important part of football games and an important part of showing support for their school. On Friday, August 18, our varsity football team played their first game of the season against Birmingham High School and the student section really showed out.

The student section leaders came up with many fun ways to keep the students engaged during the game. They led various chants and cheers and even provided baby powder to throw up into the air. Football games always have a theme and this one was white out. Everyone participated and dressed in their best white colored clothes, white makeup, white body paint, and more. Senior Rohan Dhillon, leader of the student section said, “My favorite part is being able to interact with people that I normally wouldn’t interact with. We try to make it a fun experience for everyone, no matter what the situation on the football field is.”  Junior Christan Lim said, “I think the student section leaders do a really good job at getting the whole crowd involved and they bring the energy to 100.” Lim also said, “I enjoy being in the student section because it’s really fun to be around other students and to feel a sense of community.”

Sammy Enriquez, Reporter
Hi, my name is Sammy Enriquez! I am currently a junior and graduating in 2025. This is my first year in journalism but so far I really enjoy being able to get more involved with the school. Some things I love are my dog, listening to music, being creative, and spending time with my friends and family. After high school I plan to attend a college here in California and pursue my passions.
