September is the start of seasonal drinks and bakery items for coffee shops such as Starbucks, Dr. Conkey’s, and Makenna Koffee. The most popular drink of all that you will find at any of those locations is pumpkin spice lattes. Aside from pumpkin spice lattes and pumpkin chai lattes every menu has their own unique seasonal drinks that everyone obsesses over during this time of the year. The drinks that Starbucks offer are iced cinnamon dolce latte, pumpkin cream cold brew, and apple crisp macchiato/shaken espresso. They also have pumpkin spice and apple crisp frappuccinos. Their new bakery items are the pumpkin cream cheese muffin, the pumpkin & pepita loaf, and the baked apple croissant. Starbucks also offers at home versions of their pumpkin spice coffee flavor in stores which you can purchase as iced coffee bottles, keurig pods, coffee grounds, and creamers. Starbucks also offers buy one get one free on Thursdays for any fall drinks which brings in a lot of customers. Junior Abby Perez said, “Starbucks is a must for the fall girl aesthetic.”
Makenna Koffee is very popular with all high school students because of its beachy aesthetic and they have a lot of younger people working there. Some of their seasonal drinks are pumpkin Oreo, fall in a cup, aloha pumpkin spice, caramel apple butter cold brew, green apple Redbull with caramel, and pumpkin cream funnel cake. People from out of town come to Makenna Koffee to taste their yummy drinks and their truck is at many events because everyone loves them.
Dr. Conkey’s is a favorite for many people and they have one of the most exciting spooky season vibe. The store is heavily decorated for Halloween with fall decor which makes it nice and cozy to have a drink. Their candy side of the store has all types of different selections to choose from, such as gummy eyeballs, ghost dots, and “box of boogers” gummies. Their new drinks are the Skeleton blast, everything but the crust, witch hazelnut chai, maple leaf chai, and the apple pie cappuccino malt. Freshman Makenna Baker said, “Dr. Conkey’s has the best drinks for the fall season and cute candy too.”
