On November 10, Harmonics, our advanced women’s choral group attended a festival at the University of Redlands. This group of young ladies got to perform some of their pieces from our fall concert along with other performing choirs.

Harmonics performed Tundra, and El Vito, both songs were also performed at the fall concert on October 26. At this festival all 13 groups were adjudicated, meaning they were scored on things like dynamics, blending, harmonies, and the overall sound they produce. At this time Harmonics is still waiting for their official score. However they seem pretty confident, Senior Isabel Martinez said, “The group did really well, I definitely think we were one of the best choirs here.”

These types of festivals have a scale that music professionals score on. The highest score to receive is Superior, and the lowest is poor. This school has a record of Superior scoring amongst all three choirs. These girls worked really hard on these advanced pieces, so hopefully, a Superior will be in the near future.
