Amazing!

Even though the solar eclipse of April 8 was only partially visible in Southern California, it was still very exciting and drew crowds of viewers. Some of the eclipse watchers at our school:

Makayla Bell, Reporter
Hi, my name is Makayla Bell. I live in Simi Valley and attend Royal High School. I am in the graduating class of 2024, my last year here, attending Royal. This would be the first Journalism class that I have ever taken, and I look forward to creating many stories to share with any future/upcoming readers. My hobbies are writing, reading, drawing, painting, and gaming. I love to be really inspired and to let my creative side flow. I have two cats and three dogs, and they are my everything. I love to go out and travel when possible because it gives me many opportunities to explore/visit new things that I haven’t encountered before. I love to talk and meet new people as well, I am very friendly and easygoing. I also have a weird sense of humor and love memes. After graduation, I am thinking of attending a college or trade school to either work on design or work with animals.

I am Ian Cervantes, a senior, and this is my first year of journalism. For a few years I have had an interest in writing, and journalism allows me to write about current events going on. I am wildly interested in horror movies, Halloween, and other scary stuff. My dream job is to be a scare actor and work at a horror attraction, and I plan to do so after I graduate. I enjoy listening to music, chatting with people, and walking around town. I am looking forward to conducting interviews and getting to know people.

Hi, my name is Sammy Enriquez! I am currently a junior and graduating in 2025. This is my first year in journalism but so far I really enjoy being able to get more involved with the school. Some things I love are my dog, listening to music, being creative, and spending time with my friends and family. After high school I plan to attend a college here in California and pursue my passions.

This is currently my senior year and first time in Journalism. My interest in journalism comes from both my love of reading and also my fascination with current events. Some of my hobbies include watching movies and TV, playing video games, going on walks, and traveling. After high school, I hope to become a professional writer or a teacher.

My name is Aiden Krause. I am a senior in high school. The thing I like about journalism is that you get to experience events in various settings and creatively write about it. I am a part of the football team and have been playing football since I was six years old.

I am a senior here at Royal High School and this is my first year of journalism. I have been playing beach volleyball here for the last two years and it has been such an amazing experience. In my free time, I like to read and hang out with my friends. I am excited to write for the Plaid Truth and explore deeper into my school's community!
