Spirit days are the best way to kick off the school year.

We’re back with the infamous pioNERD day, as rivalry week is back in full swing. Students have cherished this spirit day for many years, and it will remain a part of the school culture for a long time to come. Students are encouraged to wear Simi Valley High School merchandise or their colors, maroon and gold. It tends to be one of the most spirited days of the year when students go all out in their costumes. There are posters hung on the side of the 7 building to allow students to take photos of their outfits; make sure to take photos with your friends!

In anticipation of this being the last spirit week for this class of 2023, most have gone all out. Senior Kevin Bautista said, “I love spirit days, I think it’s cool to collaborate with Simi, it’s a friendly rivalry and I am sad this one is coming to an end for me.”

This week of rivalries comes to an end tomorrow, Friday, September 2. Make sure to dress up in all your favorite highlander gear, or green and gold! Furthermore, this game is not one to be missed! The varsity team takes the field at 7 p.m., so make sure you have your ID card and bring your best attitude and spirit.
