As the school year comes closer and closer to being over, the Jazz Band held one final concert to close out the year for good. On Tuesday, May 13, the Royal Jazz Band held one last concert, and it was for a packed crowd. Lisa Pate, the director of the bands, shared, “It was great, the kids performed very well and showed that they gave their all for this final concert. I’m grateful for all the support from the parents and students who helped throughout the entire school year.”
Many students helped Pate set up tables and chairs, and helped clean up after they were done. Parents helped fund and organize band events with donations as well as by volunteering to help. Freshman Jacob Maldonado said, “I’m sad the year is ending as playing and going to events is really fun, but I’m glad we were able to enjoy it while we could. Next year is going to be really fun and I’m looking forward to starting the year fresh with all the things I learned and all the people I met this year.”
