Many students that are planning to start their four years at Cal State Channel Islands immediately after graduating received great news during lunch in the CSI room. CSU Channel Islands staff members Brianna and Armando informed students that they offer an exclusive four year scholarship to students who qualify. Senior Mia Palma said, “I was told to go to the CSI to discuss my ongoing application to CSU Channel Island. I was really excited to hear that I had all the requirements. Going to a four year university after Royal was my goal which I achieved.”
More information that was shared during the meeting on March 10
was deadlines for specific assignments, financial aid, and college application essay. CSU Staff members talked about housing and dorms that are available at CSU Channel Islands. Senior and girls basketball player Alpha Leyva said, “I don’t have my own car yet so I was planning on being able to rent a dorm just for easier access to the campus. Hopefully with the money I receive from the FAFSA I will be able to buy a car for myself.”
Before the meeting concluded CSU Channel Island staff members Brianna and Armando answered questions from students about grade requirements and sports that they offer. Senior Dylan Aparicio said, “I asked them if they had a soccer team on campus and they were very polite and told me that they offer specific sport clubs. Which means it’s not really competitive, more of just playing for fun.”
