On Thursday, February 20, the U.S. Army arrived to show students what the U.S. Army does and what it’s main goal is for the present and the future. Sophomore Lucas Hoover said, “The table was cool because of the prizes they gave out for doing a current sets of pull up with him, also what they do in the Army and the benefits of joining.” Staff Sergeant Jim J. Lopez had his table out in the Highlander Square, and students were coming to the table asking what do they do in the Army, Some students were there for the pull up bar they had and if you attempted a pull up then you got a pen, if you did 15 pull ups then you got a shirt.
The U.S. Army has a lot of careers to choose from like a medical member, dentist, robotics, engineering, and many more career options. Sophomore Adrian Rendon-Rosas shared, “The Army has a lot of careers that I didn’t even know about that I might have to start to look into.” If you are looking into joining the U.S. Army, there is a recruiter in Simi Valley to which you have to take a test, and they will look at how you do to see what you can do in the Army.
