On Thursday, February 6, during lunch athletes had the opportunity to sign their commitment to their respective colleges. Students and families gathered around the Multi-Purpose Room to celebrate the athletes commitment to play their sports in college. This round of signing included five athletes from the softball team, Kylie Landaker, Holly White, Marilyn Augusta, Emily Albert and Skylar Gapol. These players have committed to the following; Kylie Landaker at Hawai’i Pacific University, Holly White at CSUMB, Marilyn Augusta at American International College, Emily Albert at Culver Stockton College, and Skylar Gapol at Pace University. In addition there was one player from the boy’s lacrosse team, Crichton Ae, who is committed to play at Sonoma State University.
So many great athletes from Royal are heading up to the next level. Their hard work and dedication has paid off, Mr. Habroun shared, “Signing day was an exciting event to take time to celebrate the great accomplishments of our student-athletes. Being able to continue to play sports in college is an incredible achievement and it’s impressive to see the number of our Highlanders able to compete at the next level.” This is Royal’s second round of signing for athletes, with the first being in the fall semester. These athletes are off to do great things. Royal’s mission to continue to raise excellence in all students continues through these athletes.
