Most people have hobbies, in fact, almost everyone you meet will tell you what they like to do outside of work or school. This is no different for the Highlander staff, who, at lunch on February 3, shared their favorite activities.
The freshman algebra teacher, Mrs. Emily Lewis, explained her family’s favorite things to do. She said, “I have two little kids who are six and eight, so we do lots of activities with them. We love to sew together, and we sometimes ride bikes or go to the park.” She has plenty of hobbies including, “drawing, painting, sewing, and running. Anything crafting, really.”
The attendance clerk, Ms. Christina Morlano, said, “Sometimes I’m a cheer coach for youth cheerleading. Other times I like doing crafts, so making things.” Even in high school, her artistic hobbies were prominent. When talking about how her hobbies were similar to when she, herself, was in high school, she said, “I sewed when I was in high school, I worked in the theater department a lot, so it would be crafting and designing things.”
In conclusion, everyone on campus probably has something they like to do outside of school, and if you ask you will probably learn a lot about that person. You might find common interests and connect with them better. Hobbies can be important to who you are, and many enjoy sharing them with other people and talking about them.
