On Tuesday, December 3, in the Kingdom stadium our girls soccer teams played a pre-season game from 4:00 to 5:15 p.m. Highlanders played against Canyon High School and it was very exciting. Even though it’s a pre-season game, every girl out on the field still took it seriously, and tried their best on each game.
The game ended with a score OF 1-3, event though they tried their best. Many of the girls tried to score a goal like freshman Isabella Lopez. Lopez said, “I had many chances but didn’t get to score, but my friends did.” She was very proud of her friends that they scored, showing the sportsmanship within their team.
There were many penalties and many throw-ins. Sophomore Holly Mian was the goal keeper, and she was not too happy when they scored the goals on her. Mian said, “If they scored once, you don’t let it happen again because that’s how you lose.”
JV and Varsity also played later that day and both won. The team JV score was 3-0 and Varsity was 1-0. All teams were proud of each other and they supported each other through each and every game. It was a good start for pre-season and the players knew they could get better in their next games.
