The Art Club is run by senior Ocelot Real in Room 11A, which offers students a space to express their creativity and explore different artistic mediums. The club hosts a variety of activities throughout the year, from hands-on art projects to contests that challenge members to push their artistic boundaries. “We try to offer a wide range of projects to keep things interesting, from painting and drawing to sculpture and digital art,” said Real, emphasizing the club’s dedication to fostering creativity in its members.
Although there are no formal exhibitions confirmed yet, the club is working on upcoming opportunities for students to showcase their work. “We’re still in the planning stages, but we’re hoping to organize an exhibit later this year,” Real shared. This exhibit will give students the chance to display their art for the school community and beyond, offering a platform for young artists to shine.
The Art Club meets every other Tuesday in room 11-A, with new members encouraged to join at any time. Whether students are experienced artists or beginners, they are welcome to come and work on their art projects during the sessions. “There’s no pressure here. You can work on whatever you’re passionate about,” said club member and junior Jamie Taylor.
No materials are required for the sessions, but students are free to bring their own supplies or projects to work on. While group projects are not yet a regular part of the club, Real is open to the idea of future collaborations. “I think group work could be a lot of fun, so it’s something we might explore in the future,” he added.
For anyone looking to tap into their creative side, the Art Club is a welcoming and inspiring environment, offering students the freedom to experiment with new ideas and connect with like-minded peers.
