Interested in becoming a teacher and wanting some experience in helping out children? Teachers of Tomorrow is a great opportunity for students who want to become a teacher as a future career. You get to intern at a local elementary school. Teachers of Tomorrow looks great on student records and even grants a class period to students taking the course.
Teachers of Tomorrow will help you develop new skills, such as communication, time management, and critical thinking. Fourth-grade intern senior Ola Taha said, “Working with kids requires patience and kindness because sometimes they won’t cooperate right away.” Schools need more future teachers who are passionate and care for students’ learning.
If you aren’t familiar with interacting with the children at these elementary schools, your classroom teacher can guide you. Intern at Vista Elementary, senior Victoria Sanchez, said, “At first I was put to grade papers in the back of the classroom, but gradually made my way to teaching the class short lessons and pulling the students aside to help them individually.”
