From October 28 to 31, students and staff celebrated Red Ribbon Week, a nationwide campaign dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of living a drug-free life. This week was packed with themed days and fun activities all while emphasizing the importance of making healthy, positive choices.
On Monday, the week began with red, as students wore the vibrant color to symbolize their commitment to being drug-free. The PTSA held a photo booth, complete with creative props. Students gathered with friends to snap fun pictures, making the start of Red Ribbon Week both meaningful and memorable.
On Tuesday was Pajama Day, a cozy favorite for many students. Dressed in their comfiest pajamas, participants were reminded that relaxation and comfort do not need to involve unhealthy choices. The theme created a laid-back atmosphere while still promoting the week’s main message.
On Wednesday, the campus was transformed into a fall fest as students decked out in fall colors. Warm tones and cozy outfits filled the halls. This theme served as a reminder to appreciate simple pleasures without the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The week ended on a high note with Halloween costumes on Thursday. Students and staff showcased their creativity with spooky, funny, and elaborate costumes, creating a festive and fun atmosphere to close out Red Ribbon Week. The costumes highlighted that embracing individuality and creativity is a great way to celebrate life without relying on harmful substances. Friday was a student day off from school for a staff development day.
Red Ribbon Week was more than just a series of themed days—it was a celebration of healthy choices and community. By participating, students demonstrated that living drug-free is not only important but also fun, meaningful, and empowering.
