Hispanic Heritage Month is such a great to celebrate and understand the cultures of many people. It is celebrated for all Hispanic and Latino people. This cultural month takes place between September 15 through October 15, and is celebrated all over the world and in many different ways. In various clubs within The Kingdom, they teach you many different things about being Hispanic. In clubs, they also make Hispanic Heritage month very known and show how people talk, celebrate, and eat.
There are also many different teachers who are Hispanic and are from different cultures. A teacher that is Hispanic is Ms. Giles. She is someone who loves celebrating her culture and loves her culture’s food. She has many students who love to celebrate their culture, just like her. Freshman Anahi Munoz is from Guatemala and she adores her culture so much. Munoz said, “I love being able to try different foods and being Latin is one of the best things I could be.” The Kingdom celebrates any person apart of Latin and Hispanic Culture by highlighting different Highlanders and faculty by describing their background and what their culture means to them as well, creating a deeper awareness.
Hispanic culture is widely known for their cultural dancing, which shine to many. When students performed for their culture, it was beloved by all students. Freshman Emmalee Lopez, who was one of the performers for the Hispanic dance showcase in front of the MPR said, “It’s so cool how people can dance like that and the colors with the dances make everything better.”
Many people in the club show different things about their culture. When people are asked about Hispanic Heritage Month, many new things are shown. The dances in Hispanic culture have been around for many years. Many dances and the clothes come from traditional customs. There are many bright colors and many different types of clothes for different dances. A very popular celebration for Hispanic Heritage Month is Day Of The Dead, which is celebrated on November 2. Many people gather around their loved ones and give many things, such as flowers and food.
