Our Homecoming Rally, held during 4th period on Friday, September 27, gathered all highlanders inside the gym to hype up the school for the football game and dance. This year’s theme is Casino Royale for the Homecoming Dance. Many extracurricular groups such as band, cheer, dance, and color guard performed.
During this colorful Homecoming Rally nominees were announced participated in mini games and worked together to try and come in first place. All grade levels were assigned a color to wear to the rally with seniors assigned to wear black, juniors assigned to wear white, sophomores wore green, and freshmen wore yellow.
Senior Niko Parastaev who played the tenor saxophone during the homecoming rally said, “A lot of focus and effort is needed to make sure everyone is in harmony.” Junior George Torres was asked what he liked about the rally and said, “Watching the volunteers race through the obstacle course.” Senior Itzel Ganduillia said, “My favorite part was the music and dancers, it’s always cool to see them perform.” The rally in general was very exciting and well put together, Highlanders loved it because of all the cheering and yelling from the bleachers.
