Thomas Richard is the top scholar at Royal High School this year. He gave some meaningful advice to help future highlander students.
Richard is attending University of Nevada Reno. Throughout his high school years, Richard’s key takeaways come from his work ethic. He said, “I see that students tend to struggle when they become tired and lazy. I avoided these feelings by pushing through and realizing the importance of high school.” That was a key thing through Richard’s high school years as he had to propel through nine AP classes. Richard said, “Taking the AP classes are helpful because they are more serious. This helps me learn more things in these classes. Overall, I recommend taking AP classes because they boast your grades.” With all these hard classes in mind, Richard’s hardest obstacle to overcome throughout high school was calculus. The “concept’s difficulty” was the main challenge for Richard.
Looking back on these years Richard wished he took more AP classes and realized the importance of high school for your future. For a young freshman he said, “My best advice is to be a professional and don’t give up. Amateurs do it for the benefits and get lazy.” Richard’s is planning on studying in the medical field this upcoming fall in college.
