Some of our boys wrestlers made it all the way to the final state meet. The four students who qualified were junior Logan Hansen, junior Benjamin Kirk, junior Peter Fulgentes and senior Mason Carrillo. Their matches were on Thursday 2/22 through Saturday 2/24. Unfortunately only two wrestlers made it past the first round and those people were Kirk and Carrillo. Kirk said, “It sucks to get eliminated but it’s a great experience and I’m looking to do better next time out.”
Carrillo has an amazing record with our school earning his 100th total win in wrestling, he also won the Ned’s field of dreams Athlete of the Week. Carrillo has had so many amazing accomplishments and continues to make himself one of the best wrestlers in our school’s history. All of our wrestlers did amazing, having very close matchups and they worked hard the whole season to do something almost impossible.
Hansen said, “Amazing experience, looking forward to next year.” Everyone in the wrestling program worked extremely hard and did everything they could do, proving toughness and never giving up throughout the entire year. The wrestling program has, and will continue to be, one of our schools best sports programs.
