The fall semester finals are coming up and will be happening from December 18 to December 20. The Center for Academic Success in the library is a great tool available for students to prepare for the finals.
Monday through Thursday during lunch and after school any student can walk in and bring their materials for help. The room is equipped with computers, each course’s textbooks, and full access to all library resources. As you walk in, stations are set up by subjects with at least one tutor at each station. The tutors can assist you in science or math. They are some of the strongest academic performers in the school. The tutoring is set up to be focused and effective so everyone that is there must be working or else they will be asked to leave. Senior Jonah Krause said, “The Center for Academic Success is a great place to study and get homework done. It is always really quiet so I can get my work done a lot more efficiently.”
Finals can be very stressful. According to Oxford Learning, “Tutoring can help strengthen subject compensation, boost confidence, and build important learning skills.” The Center for Academic Success is a great resource to use to help you prepare. Librarian Mrs. Mackey said, “Students do not use it that often and it is very underutilized. These are students just like they are and if they want help they should come get it, it is here.” She added, “Parents can end up paying 50 to 60 dollars an hour for tutors, this is free.”
