Visual Arts Teacher of Ceramics, Drawing and Painting, Art and Design Mrs. Holcombe’s Art Show, a magical world where there is no limit to creativity. Inside this Art Show you would be able to view a vibrant celebration of student talent and artistic expression. AP Art, regular Art and Ceramics had one theme in common with the creations, which was the ocean. There were mesmerizing paintings of ocean animals to intricate sculptures of sea life like sharks, turtles, and bright coral. Whether you are an aspiring student artist or simply someone who appreciates art in its many forms, this exhibit would definitely inspire you.
Inside of these art classes Mrs. Holcombe showed students how to work with bold water colors, smooth oil pastels, and even just regular colored pencils and crayons. Freshman art student Jayden Ramble said, “I prefer to use oil pastels and prismacolor since those are the most detailed and easy to work with.” Many artistic strategies were used in these projects to show off skills, like the use of textures and extreme shading techniques. Junior and art student Tanya Loeza said, “In my art project I chose to draw jellyfish and seahorses. Art is very relaxing and therapeutic so I recommend all students to take at least one art class.”
In love with some of the art? On the black tables pictured in the middle were handmade cups, charcuterie boards, jewelry holders, and coasters. All of which were created by students and Mrs. Holcombe herself, that you are able to purchase for 20 dollars or less.
