The 2023 school year is here, and along with it comes new students, and new staff. This year, we welcome our new art and ceramics teacher, Mrs. Catherine Holcombe! She has been a professional artist for over a decade, and wholeheartedly loves designing, illustrating, and ceramics. She lives in Simi Valley, and has an art studio in her house.
“Art is one of those things that when you’re doing it, you get lost in it, you lose track of time, become hyper focused, and everything else goes away. And I want to help other people find it,” Holcombe said. “I always think art is for everyone and everyone should be able to experience an activity that makes them feel like that.”
Being a firm believer in student capabilities, Holcombe firmly believes that everyone can grow and excel their own artistic abilities. In the future, she has high hopes to get her and her students’ projects completed and shown off.
“She’s super nice, very patient with her students. Definitely loves art a lot, and enjoys doing the projects with the students.” said senior student Citlaly Iglesias.
