On Thursday, September 10, at 6:30 p.m, during the Highlander vs Buena High School varsity football game, AFJROTC came out and saluted our veterans during halftime. This presentation was memorable and heart warming. AFJROTC likes to speak with veterans, so that cadets get to hear the experiences, commonly stories from World War II and the Vietnam War. The veterans were served sandwiches, and afterwards AFJROTC also got to eat and enjoy conversations with the veterans.
Over 100 cadets were led by senior Corps Commander, Graham LaBass, who shared, “It is a big responsibility because I know how our cadets are, and the help from other commanders that did this before.” Senior Jonatan Evan, on being an element leader for this event, said, “I followed the steps and did what was asked of me to do, and had to trust everyone to do the right movements.” This was a special event for AFJROTC and the veterans, and AFJROTC put on a full demonstration to show appreciation to the veterans and what they did for our country.
