Introduction to the performance of hit song, “Gasoline” from the album Dawn FM.

Due to the return of events after a two-year shutdown, many artists are beginning to perform concerts again.

Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, known professionally as the Weeknd, a Canadian singer with 42.8 million Instagram followers and 10 albums, recently had his After Hours til Dawn tour to commemorate his latest album, and his tour that was previously canceled because of the pandemic. During the last tour date at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, on September 3, he had unexpectedly lost his voice three songs into the show.

After finishing his hit song “Can’t Feel My Face” Abel came on stage and announced he was canceling the rest of the show, “I’m going to make sure everyone is good, you’ll get your money back,” he told the shocked audience. “But I’ll do a show real soon for you guys.” Needless to say, the fans of this sold-out show were deeply disappointed.

Katie Guardado, a senior who attended the concert said, “It was disappointing for sure because I was really looking forward to it but I just hope he is okay and can continue his tour.”

The Weeknd released a post on social media, at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, stating “LA date is being worked out soon. Thank you SO much for all the love and understanding that’s come my way.”

Hopefully all those who purchased tickets will be able to experience the long awaited concert.
