From April 14-17, the back of the library transformed into an underwater paradise as students showcased their ocean themed creations at the annual art show. The event featured a wide variety of projects from both the art and ceramics classes.
This years theme brought the sea to life with handmade sculptures and drawings of fish, whales, seahorses, pufferfish, coral, octopuses, and crabs. In addition to the stunning art pieces, those who attended the event had the opportunity to purchase student made pieces, including bowls, charcuterie boards, cups and saucers, jewelry holders, trays, necklaces, and coasters.
Each piece was handcrafted by students in the ceramics class, and all proceeds from the event went directly toward purchasing much needed equipment and supplies for the art department.
Adding to the talent the Royal Jazz Combo performed live providing a smooth background music for the evening.
The show was not only a celebration of student artistry but also a meaningful way to support the future of the arts on campus.
