Election day is on November 4, with presidential candidates Donald Trump running for the Republican Party, Kamala Harris for the Democratic Party, Jill Stein for the Green Party, and Cornel West for the Independent Party. Some seniors in the Kingdom may be eligible to vote for the 2024 Election, if they are of age. AP Government teacher Mr. Kevin Boerem said, “Politics is a major topic in this class that will help you understand why it is so important to vote. You are in charge of your future, therefore voting for who will be in charge of this country is crucial.”
The requirements to vote is proof you are 18 years or older through a valid source of ID, and the voter must be a US Citizen, as well as a resident of California. Senior Joseph Servaes said, “I just turned 18 in October, so voting will definitely be an interesting experience.” Voting in elections is a great way to support your party and voice your own opinion. Highlanders 18 years or older can visit in person voting locations or print out ballots and drop them off at Official Ballot Drop Boxes. Don’t want to go in person? Don’t worry, residents of California receive ballots through mailboxes, and voters were eligible to fill it out and mail it in ballot boxes.
