After finishing the season with a record of 14-15 the Royal boys basketball team is looking to work hard this off season while coach Griffin  hopes of a winning record next year. Head coach C. Griffin said, “I’m really proud of how my guys played this season, they worked hard and had a great season. The Highlanders finished 3-5 in their Coastal Canyon League, beating Moorpark High School twice and cross town rivals Simi Valley High School once.

Coach Griffin invited a correctional facility basketball team and provided pizza for them so his team could get an easy win a qualify for CIF playoffs. Being a low seed in the playoffs the Highlanders were forced to play a top seed and unfortunately lost in the first round. Standout shooting guard T. Andreolli said, “I’m gonna miss playing with my high school teammates, but I can’t wait to go on to the next level.” Andreolli finished the season as the top scorer and MVP of the team.
