On November 11, cadets from JROTC had the privilege of helping out at the Veterans Day ceremony. This ceremony took place at Lemon Park and honored the brave men and women who fought for our country. Cadets were able to help in many different ways, such as helping set up and passing out programs.
Everyone had such a good time and enjoyed loving on our many veterans. It was an amazing time for everyone and it’s always good to come together and thank those who fought for us.
Our choir also sang the national anthem and our band played a few songs. Freshman Sabrina S. said, “I am so glad that I had the privilege of helping out veterans and being able to give back in any way that I can. I enjoyed it even more because my grandfather came for the ceremony.”
Hearing their stories and speaking to veterans is always so interesting because they have so much to say. All of their stories are different and no one has had the exact same experience.
Freshman Jocelyn C. said, “I had a lot of fun helping out and I am glad that I had the opportunity to help out the many veterans.” After the very heartfelt ceremony, the volunteers and veterans were given an amazing lunch from Red’s Barbecue.
