As the Royal Class of 2025 prepares to officially take off into their post-graduation journeys. Two seniors, Miranda Cruz and Sophie Faegan, gave their insight into where they see themselves in ten years and the motivations behind their dreams. Here is a glimpse into their visions and plans for the next decade.
Miranda Cruz, Senior:
- Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
- “In ten years, I see myself as a clinical psychologist, working to help individuals with mental health issues and contributing to research in the field.”
- Why would you like to pursue that dream?
- “I have always been drawn to understanding the complexities of the human mind. The support I have received due to past experiences has inspired me to give back and make a difference.”
- What makes you so passionate about it?
- “I feel like my passion stems from seeing the positive impact that mental health care can have and I would love to be a part of a field that offers healing to those who need it most.”
- Do you have any alternate goals/dreams that you would like to see yourself pursuing?
- “Well, my ultimate goal is to become a clinical psychologist. But if that doesn’t work out I am also interested in exploring different roles in education psychology or even mental health advocacy. I would love to add to public awareness and support programs.”
Sophia “Sophie” Faegan, Senior:
- Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
- “That’s a pretty long time! I would like to see myself as an environmental scientist who focuses on climate change solutions.”
- Why would you like to pursue that dream?
- My concerns for the environment and the future of climate change make me want to look for solutions. I would like to work on projects that have a positive impact on our planet.”
- What makes you so passionate about it?
- My passion is mainly driven by my desire to protect our environment and ecosystems and to contribute to a meaningful change.”
- How do you plan on achieving that goal?
- I want to attend a 4-year university to get a degree in environmental science. Also gaining experience and staying updated on environmental policies will be beneficial to my success.”
- Do you have any alternate goals/dreams that you would like to see yourself pursuing?
- “To be honest, I do not have any alternate dreams. I am passionate about becoming an environmental scientist and haven’t given myself time to dream about anything else.”
