Home-made spooky cookies are a fun way to spend your time while staying safe.

It’s fall y’all! The fall season is looking a little different this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. When you’re in quarantine for so long, you start to feel bored and run out of things to do. But have no fear! Some new project ideas and things to keep you busy are coming your way. Senior Jaden Verdina’s favorite thing to do during the fall is baking. “I made a ton of cookies this fall season for friends and family because when I’m bored in quarantine, I bake.” Verdina said, “Making spooky cookies is something I look forward to doing every year, so why stop the fun now? I wish I could make them year-round!” When asked what her favorite recipe is Verdina responded, “I like making sugar cookie batter and icing them like pumpkins, bats or skeletons. It’s a Horror Galore.”

Another favorite for Autumn is watching Halloween movies and horror movies. You can watch movies in the comfort of your own home safely. If you’re into scary, you’d like Annabelle or a personal favorite, the Paranormal Activity series. If scary isn’t your thing, that’s okay! There are movies like The Nightmare Before Christmas or It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

If you’re not a movie person then you should try the new top game on the App Store: Among Us. Among Us is a game where there are imposters and crewmates, each side trying to win the game. Imposters and crewmates each have goals to either catch the imposter or kill everyone off. Senior Madi Decker said, “Quarantine has been tough stuff because my friends are active people and we enjoyed going out and doing things together before the quarantine. About a month ago we started playing Among Us which is awesome because we all hop on a Discord Server and all have a fun time playing the game.” She also added, “I hate being the imposter because I’m the worst at lying, but it doesn’t even matter because I have so much fun playing with my friends.” At times like these, it’s important to have fun safely in quarantine and it may not be what everyone wants their fall to look like but you can always make the best out of a bad situation and keep yourself busy this fall season.
