If you are searching for a cold or hot drink, the Highlander Cafe is the place to go! The cafe is located inside the 8 building. You can visit at 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday during nutrition, lunch, or even during your free period, as long as you show your ID.
The cafe has special seasonal drinks for this fall season they have the Pumpkin Flavored Frappe. You could always get a fruit smoothie or iced coffee if you aren’t feeling like getting a hot drink.
The Cafe also serves food ramen, muffins, and cookies. Cafe student worker Alicia Saucedo gave insight on the benefits of working at the Royal High School Cafe. Saucedo informed us that, “At the end of the week all tips are split evenly among all workers.” Working at the cafe is also a great way to earn some credit for classes. “The cafe is a very welcoming workplace, and everyone is friends with each other,” said Saucedo. Not only do cafe workers get class credit and money in tips, “Cafe workers in April have a special exclusive field trip planned for only the students taking the class,” said Saucedo.
