During the last week of the first semester, winter finals were held. Royal High School’s campus became a congregation of super stressed students and teachers. Due to finals, the entire school had a different atmosphere than usual. Everyone was stressed, and many kids felt unprepared due to the number of finals they have to take. The school schedule also changed for finals week. The final week schedule was periods 3 and 4 on Monday, 2 and 5 on Tuesday, and 1 and 6 on Wednesday. Each period was 2 hours long with a 20-minute break in between. Winter break started Thursday, December 21st. Freshman H. Cole said, “After school ended on Wednesday, you could feel the excitement in the air as students and teachers packed their bags and went home for winter break.” Freshman B. Raquel said, “Finals were very hard for me because they’re so much work. I’m glad they’re over.” School started again on Tuesday, January 9th. Luckily, students can relax for now, as there will not be more finals until the last weeks of school.
