Mother’s Day is a holiday in which mothers across the world are honored for everything they do for their kids and family. Mother’s Day was first celebrated in May of 1908. American Mother’s Day was created by Anna Jarvis, and Mother’s Day became an official holiday in 1914.

This holiday falls on the second Sunday of May each year. This is a fairly new holiday but it has become a staple tradition in the United States for most typical American families. The most common celebration of Mother’s Day is usually a card or flowers or even both. These gifts are used to show the family’s appreciation for everything that their mother does for them, and it lets the moms out there know that they are appreciated.

This holiday is a special one because it is not necessarily a religion based holiday leading to more people celebrating Mother’s Day around the world. This is the day where mothers can be honored across the world.
